Here's my first bit of creative output for 2010.

I filmed the harbour in Helsinki a couple of weeks before Christmas, just as the sea was beginning to freeze. The water was still slightly warmer than the cold air, and a wind-blown mist formed above the sea's surface.

I originally temp-tracked it with an Arvo Pärt piano piece, Für Alina, so I could quickly send a copy to family and friends but, now I've had more time, (and to avoid copyright issues), I've written some of my own music to accompany the images.

The sea is now fully frozen, so next weekend we should be able to walk across it to one of the nearby islands.
