I've joined the video age!

I got a Flip Ultra HD camera and have been playing around with it for the past few days trying to figure out what I needed to do technically to get the best results on YouTube. (I had previously thought a Codec was a headache tablet, but as it turns out it's quite the opposite.)

I filmed myself playing guitar over some standard jazz changes, while recording the audio on Cubase at the same time, then synced the two together. It seems to have worked OK, although I had thought that I had pressed the magic button in the video editor to make me look like Brad Pitt and play like John Scofield, but I clearly got the two muddled up.

I know it's not earth-shatteringly original (and a couple of notes are a source of some regret :) but I'll get more creative with it now I've got the technical issues ironed out.

OK, I'm off to storyboard my next one:

Scene 1. Ext. A meteorite heads towards Gordon Brown..

Hi Chris. I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your playing and cracked up at the title's play on words. Plus the Flip looks like it work nicely. I'm gonna have to check one out for myself. Thanks again and take care. All the best.

Hi Lyle.

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it!
I've just been reading the interview with you on your site - looks like we have some similar experiences :) Your site in general looks fascinating; I've just signed up for your mailing list, and I can see I'm going to be reading interviews for the rest of the morning!

Cheers,

Chris
