When I was looking for a digital distributor to get my album "Mix A" online, I came across RouteNote as being one possible option. I googled them, (as you do), but couldn't find much in the way of user reviews. So, for what it's worth, here's my opinion of them so far.
I had initially been trying to decide between TuneCore and CD Baby, and had read a lot of comparisons of their different services, costs, speed of getting the tracks online etc.
I then came across Routenote, and was attracted immediately by the fact that they were free! There are no upfront charges and no hidden costs (or at least none that I have found up to this point). They pay you 90% of the money you make, although you have to reach an earnings threshold of $50 before they'll make a payment, and you can upload as many tracks as you want.
I had a problem when it came to uploading the tracks - 9 of the 10 tracks uploaded fine, but I couldn't get the 10th to work. I sent them a mail on a Sunday night and got an answer first thing the next day, from a real person who sorted it all out very quickly. I was really impressed by the service - as I said, it felt like I was dealing with a real person at their end. (I think this may be a welcome by-product of their size at the moment, so perhaps get in there before they get too big!)
Now for the really good part - my album went live on iTunes in 2 weeks! From what I've read about other aggregators, this is amazingly fast. The album's only just gone live, so I'm not in a position yet to say how quickly/well the payment system works - I'm just hoping I'm going to be in a position to find out fairly soon.. :)
All in all I've been really impressed so far, and I can definitely recommend them if you're considering going down the digital route.
